Safety Professional I

Grade Description:

Consults with clients in General Industry to define need or problem, conducts research, performs studies and surveys to obtain data, and analyzes data to advise on or recommend solution, utilizing knowledge of safety theory, principles, or technology. Performs marketing as needed for General Industry Division in the form of presentations and service request follow-ups. Insurance, 401k, AFLAC available, tuition assistance program. Moderate travel involved.

  1. BS in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Science or other related area required. Prefer MS with CSP or CIH certification.
  2. A demonstrated working knowledge of safety and occupational health management concepts, principals, practices, codes, standards, regulations, and procedures which include environmental regulations.
  3. Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory.
  4. Demonstrated presentation skills.

Fire/Rescue Technician

Grade Description:

In this position, the employee is responsible for the health and life safety of M.E.A. employees and clients in high hazard environments. The Fire/Rescue Technician shall understand and be able to use/deploy all related rescue, hazardous materials response, emergency medical and firefighting equipment/apparatus employed by M.E.A.'s special operations division. Must be able to work under stressful conditions and lift heavy loads. The Fire/Rescue Technician must be able to operate in IDLH atmospheres utilizing assigned personal protective equipment and breathing apparatus. Must be able to ascend and descend ropes and ladders and not be afraid to work at great heights. The Fire/Rescue Technician will be the top-side systems employee in the event of a high-angle rescue and is expected to be the team's master operator of all high-angle rescue systems. The employee shall conduct air monitoring utilizing proper sampling protocols and establish ventilation as necessary to maintain a safe working environment for M.E.A. clients and employees. The Fire/Rescue Technician shall be able to dam, dike, divert, and patch leaking vessels containing hazardous materials. The Fire/Rescue Technician shall be able to employ industry acceptable fire fighting strategy and tactics to bring damage under control due to the outbreak of fire and explosions. The ability to operate large vehicles pulling trailers is considered a critical skill for this position. Extensive travel required.
